These can include things like collectibles, musical instruments, electronics, gadgets, jewellery and works of art. There are two types of high-risk items, specified and unspecified.

Specified high-risk items

These are high-risk items specified in your policy schedule that you have declared and have a value of above £1,500 (or £350 for pedal cycles). Check your policy schedule if you're not sure what items you've specified.

How do I specify a new high-risk item after I've purchased my policy?

To specify a new high-risk item to to the customer portal > view policy and click 'Want to make a change?' > 'Change high risk items'.

Unspecified high-risk items

These are high-risk items that you haven't declared. Check your policy schedule for your:

  • Unspecified high-risk items limit - this is the total limit for all unspecified high-risk items

  • High-risk single item limit - this is the limit for any single high-risk item that you haven't specified

If you have high-risk items that you want to be covered in your policy, please make sure that:

  • The unspecified high-risk items limit in your policy schedule is equal to or higher than the total value of your high-risk items not specified in your policy schedule

  • All high-risk items worth more than the high-risk single item limit are specified in your policy schedule

  • The values shown in your policy schedule for each of your specified high-risk items is equal to or higher than the full replacement values of each of your specified high-risk items

  • Your list of specified high-risk items is kept up to date, especially when you buy new items
