Home insurance is the collective term for buildings and contents insurance. Buildings insurance covers the cost of repairs if the structure of your home gets damaged. Contents insurance covers the cost of replacing stolen or damaged goods inside your home and you have the option to cover some contents away from home too.

Whether you need both buildings and contents insurance, or just one depends on your property and personal circumstances.
