At umbrl, high-risk items are items that cost more than £1,500 (or £350 for pedal cycles) to replace as new, and fit into one of our categories. When you get a quote with us we'll ask you about these. You can choose to cover these at home only or include coverage away from the home too.
What if I have an item worth more than £1,500 but it doesn't fit into one of these categories?
We don't need you to let us know about items that aren't in these categories but it's worth bearing in mind that we have a single item limit of £1,500 for contents. This means that, outside of specified high-risk items, the most we could pay per item is £1,500.
We'll also ask you about personal belongings which refers to items you'd like to insure outside of the home. For more information, click here.
How do I specify a new high-risk item after I've purchased my policy?
It's important to keep your specified high-risk items up to date, especially when you buy new items. To specify a new high-risk item go to the customer portal and click 'Make changes to my policy'.
